Art has always been a way for me to process experience
Where I have been, what I have seen, and the contradictions that shape our lives. My background as both an artist and educator has given me a deep appreciation for the power of images to communicate ideas, preserve memories, and create emotional connections.
Travel has become an important part of that process. After spending much of the past year traveling throughout Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, and Japan, I returned with a renewed perspective on both my life and my work. My time in Japan was particularly influential. I spent a week in Kyoto and immediately connected with the city—the balance between tradition and modernity, restraint and visual intensity, ancient craftsmanship and contemporary culture.
